DO I HAVE TO WEAR A TUXEDO AT WEDDING?

Many people nowadays have questioned whether they must wear a Tux at a wedding or not. Let’s make this easy for you to understand.

If it’s your wedding, YES!

If it’s a family member’s wedding, YES again!

If you know the difference between a Suit and a Tuxedo, or if you have just read our recent blog, you’d definitely know what purpose do they serve and where they must be worn.

If you are a Groom-to-be wondering whether or not it’s worth owning a Tuxedo worth thousands or even lakhs of Rupees, you would probably like to revise what you are spending on extravagant décor and place settings. After all you best know why guests attend the “Indian weddings”- the Food, and of course for You. That’s why never compromise on caterers and your wardrobe!

One thing is certain that it would cost dimes on dollars w.r.t your fiancé’s Lehenga or Gown. And rather than regretting looking like a sider instead of protagonist, you must gear up on the outfit because women aren’t going low-key on their dress.

Now that does not mean you must wear ostentatious Tuxedo even if your personal taste is simple and timeless. You can wear a Tuxedo with subtle embroidery, or a Jacquard Tuxedo or even Tuxedos with certain highlight on lapel or a different waistcoat style, basically some embellishment which says you are the GROOM.

If it’s a special day of your family member, we’d definitely not suggest you to wear something that is much heavy than the groom. A simple, classic Tuxedo is fine too. But please don’t show up in a shirt and an old Blazer, give other people a chance.

Now you’d also reckon where else can you wear the Tuxedo or what to do with it. A Suit by its virtue is sustainable clothing and can be re-styled. The shirt, the trousers, the waistcoat, the tie and accessories, all of it can be recreated as a new look when paired with different combinations. A Suit is a memory of lifetime, especially when it’s your wedding Suit. Its prime purpose shouldn’t be that of what to do with it after the occasion. Its emotion, its vibe, its aesthetic will be forever imprinted in your photographs, videos, posts and stories; ergo it better be worth it!
