HOW TO BUY THE PERFECT SUIT SIZE? The right FIT for you!

You may have seen many people wear the most fashionable suits, matching accessories on point, and even have the ability to carry haute fashion…..Butttttt, their suit lacks the most important element, THE FIT!

The next time you go to a store to buy your suit, remember these things!

THE SUIT- the fit

Firstly, know what kind of fit you want to wear, the regular fit or slim fit? Regular fit or relaxed fit will give you the comfort you need throughout the time, be it meetings or weddings. Slim fit will give you a sleek look and will look good for the photographs.

Shoulders:

When buying a ready to wear, always check the shoulders first. It is always a little big than your shirt’s shoulders. And no, you can’t move your hands all the way up for dance, like you can do in shirts.

Arms:

Check if your arms have room for movement. Skin fit suits look good for the photos but they aren’t practically convenient.

Chest:

The chest should have room for your hand to slip through the lapel, for e.g.: to keep envelopes, glasses, etc. in the inner pocket.

Stomach:

When you button your suit, it shouldn’t make multiple wrinkles around the button.

Sleeves:

The sleeve length must reach till wrist where there is space for about half inch of cuffs to show. Sleeve length shouldn’t be too short or too long.

THE WAISTCOAT

The waistcoat should be body fit and make sure it has belt loop in the back. Its should be long enough to cover your waist.

THE TROUSER

Length:

Loose fit pants are a thing of past. For suit or any other trouser, half fold break would look just fine. For blazer or casual wear, ankle length would also look good.

Waist:

Look for flexible waist/ stretchable belt trousers which will give you complete comfort.

Hip Portion:

The hip portion too shouldn’t be too tight or too loose otherwise it won’t give a clean look and it won’t be comfortable too!

P.S.: Remember this, a Rs 10,000 suit that fits well is far better than a Rs 1,00,000 that doesn’t fit properly.
