SUITS VS TUXEDOS VS BLAZER. WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE?!
Going for an outing or a party with your friends and discussing what to wear? You may have heard them say Blazer or Suit or Tuxedo and you have no idea there’s a difference? Do not worry, we are here for you.
Often confused with each other and used synonymously, it’s time we understand the difference between them. All of these are types of Jackets and they are worn in different ways. Here’s a sneak peek into their meaning and where you can wear it.
Blazer:
A Blazer is a jacket that is usually worn for casual occasions. It can be worn with T-shirts/Casual shirts and Jeans/ Chinos. It’s light in weight and is more suitable for outdoor occasions. When you ask for a blazer in a store, the sales representative will offer you with a single coat jacket.
You can use funky accessories and pocket squares with respect to the occasion. Experiment with fresh colors and bold designs as it is purely casual. Try different materials like linen, worsted wool, velvets, terry rayon, flannel, hosiery knitting, polyester, cotton and many more. Most importantly, be confident about what you’re wearing.
Suits:
A Suit is a set of jacket and trouser stitched from the same fabric. Often classified as two-piece, three piece and also five-piece suits, they are worn in formal and semi-formal occasions. They are usually worn with formal shirts and a tie. Depending on different styles, they can be worn in offices, meetings, parties, weddings, proms, graduation parties, farewell parties, etc. You can accessorize these suits with broche or lapel pins. These suits are of the same fabric lapel and hence give a formal look.
Tuxedos:
Tuxedos or Tux are also Suits with a slight difference in silhouette but a huge difference in purpose. Tuxedos have lapels made of Satin or sometimes even Velvet. It is worn with pleated tuxedo shirts, waistcoat and trouser. You can also wear a Sash or Cummerbund instead of Waistcoat.
Traditionally it is an evening wear, where men in the earlier days used to put on a Tux for parties as their day suits became dirty and had smell. Usually worn in dinner parties, award parties and marriage occasions, a Tuxedo is often adorned with a bow or a tie and cufflinks.

P.S: Only wear sneakers with blazers and complement shoes and tuxedos with formal shoes.
